Schlumberger, the world's largest oilfield services corporation ($27B revenue - 87k employees - 80 countries), is a leader in both oilfield and information technology. Knowledge management pioneers, SLB was an early adopter and innovator in custom, open source, and commercial content management systems. My role was as technical project manager for the sustaining and redesign efforts of the corporate portal custom CMS, working with Marketing and IT, and managing internal and external development groups. This custom content management system innovated technologies that are ubiquitous today: public account registration, personalization, e-mail alerts, newsfeed subscriptions, editors to allow non-technical employees easy methods to publish content online, and content approval processes.

SEED
Schlumberger Excellence in Educational Development (SEED) is a non-profit organization that provides science education, computers, and internet connectivity to students at needy schools worldwide. We provided the farmwork for SEED's educational webite, which enhances the employee volunteer outreach with science experiments, project updates, and additional learning materials. This website is translated into seven languages. Partnering with published Adobe ColdFusion expert, Selene Bainum, we also created a database driven sub-site that is used to by SLB management and the school administrators to coordinate and report on SEED's Connectivity Grant program.
